Christmas is a time for giving and that’s exactly how Sedulo aimed to finish their 2017, with a Christmas
Toy Appeal.
Working in conjunction with a range of North West-based causes, the team sought out to make Christmas for 110 children across the North West who ordinarily wouldn’t have had one.
With a date for a reverse-style grotto theme in place, fundraising for the children was held across a two-week period where kind donators to the cause would purchase toys and treats based on each child’s age and interests, before passing them across in sacks at the grotto to be distributed out to the children who need them most.
The grotto was attended by Sedulo staff and their children and families, along with representatives from each of the chosen charities in an afternoon of festive fun.
The afternoon culminated in the appearance of Father Christmas himself as the children in attendance handed over sacks of presents to pass onto a child less fortunate than themselves, whilst also sneaking in a word with Santa for what they might like for Christmas themselves.
The team at Sedulo teamed up with organisations including Key 103’s Cash for Kids, Tameside Council, Salford Children’s Centre, Independent Choices and children’s bereavement charity, Once Upon a Smile.
Of the cause, Once Upon A Smile’s Paul Miller commented:
“Having suffered a bereavement, Christmas is a difficult time of year and your involvement has made a big difference. In fact, you helped create Christmas for 56 families. For this we would like to say a massive thank you.”
