On Saturday 2nd December, Malmesbury-born boxer, Joe Hughes, will face off against Anthony Yigit for the Swede’s European Junior Welterweight title.

After narrowly missing out on the British Super Lightweight belt following April’s draw with former British welterweight king, Tyrone Nurse – a title he held for nearly two years – Hughes will be looking to bounce back against the currently undefeated Yigit with another career title victory.

Hughes is a former two-times British champion despite being born with Erbs Palsy, a condition which has left him with partial paralysis in his right arm. Not allowing the impairment to interfere with his ambition, the 27
year old has so far enjoyed a career which has amassed fifteen wins and just two defeats, including a 2015 title victory.

Another Sedulo sporting personality competing in the coming weeks is Manchester’s Joe Murray, the younger brother of former Middleweight champion John.

Fresh from a run of seven victories, including the spectacular knockout of Denmark’s Rashid Kassem, a strike that saw him claim Boxnation’s Knockout of the Year prize, Murray is facing off against Zimbabwe’s Nkululeko Venganayi as Manchester’s iconic Victoria Warehouse plays the venue for Africa vs UK, a night of four WBC international title fights.

Best of luck to both fighters!
