The Treasury’s new top-up grants are open to hospitality, retail and leisure sector businesses with a physical premises who have had to close from 5 January until at least mid-February.
Is my business eligible and how much am I entitled to?
The amount each business owner will be offered will be based on the level of business rates typically paid by each site.
The one-off top-ups will be granted to closed businesses as follows:
- £4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
- £6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
- £9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000
How do I apply?
All businesses need to apply for a grant through their local authorities. The Government is giving the new funds to councils to distribute to businesses, as it did back in November during the second national lockdown.
