Adan Yusuf, Ph.D.

R&D Consultant

Adan is an R&D Consultant at Sedulo, based in Sedulo’s London office, where he is an integral part of the Research and Development team within the Allowances, Incentives, and Reliefs (A.I.R) division.

Since joining Sedulo in 2024, he has been instrumental in advising clients on R&D tax credits and incentives, helping innovative businesses identify and substantiate qualifying activities to maximise their claims. His contributions have been recognised with an award for outstanding performance in the first quarter of the 2024/25 financial year.

A robust academic background underpins Adan’s technical expertise. He holds a Ph.D in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Leeds, where his research focused on Pathway-Dependent Block Copolymer Self-Assembly. His doctoral work involved advanced synthetic polymer chemistry and self-assembly techniques to develop and understand stimulus-responsive nanoparticles that could respond to changes in pH, temperature, and self-assembly method. These nanomaterials, designed to mimic subcellular structures, have potential applications in targeted delivery, controlled release, and catalysis for next-generation formulated products.

He also holds an MSci in Chemistry from Queen Mary University of London and has contributed to research on molecularly imprinted polymers for the detection of methylxanthines in coffee.
