For the 2016/17 season, Sedulo will be the official cup sponsor for Stockport County FC’s campaigns in the FA Cup and FA Trophy.
In a unique deal, we struck the five figure agreement with the club to cement our place as official match sponsor for games at Edgeley Park in both competitions, regardless of how far the Hatters progress.
Of the deal, which is acknowledged as a bit of a roll of the dice for both, County’s Commercial Manager, Simon Dawson, said:
It’s the first time we have ever done a deal of this nature, where neither party knows exactly what the outcome will be!
It will be a very interesting journey, so we’re delighted to have our friends from Sedulo on board as our Official Cup Sponsors for 2016/17.
Our Managing Director, Paul Cheetham, added:
I have been coming to County since the early 80’s and we have a number of staff who, like myself, were born in Stockport and are County fans.
When we sat down with Simon to discuss our potential involvement this season, we were very excited by this new approach to sponsorship. If the club has a tremendous cup run this season, then we’ll get fantastic value for money and extended exposure throughout the season. On the other hand, if they fall at the first hurdle in both cup competitions, it could be the worst deal in history!

The first game of the sponsorship kicks off this weekend, with the Hatters taking on Hyde United in the second qualifying round of the FA cup.
